I was raised on a farm which has raised cattle, both beef cattle and dairy cattle. It just seems to me that they have gotten much more stupid over the years. Though I no longer have a thing to do with the care of them, they tend to be around our house more than I like, and they have messed up a few things; like breaking off the faucet knob on our outdoor faucet on the backside of the house. That has been a few months ago now.
The stupidest thing that I have seen them do is work so hard to destroy a trash burning barrel to get to the ashes within. They have wallowered it out, and completely ruined a steel drum. It is not even usable any longer. What is it that they seem to crave about ash, and trash remains? There must be some mineral or something about it that draws them to the barrel.
We now have a dog which might be of some benefit in keeping them out of the yard. Most of all we need to get our fence finished. Hopefully, it won’t be too long and we can get that done; the cattle won’t be getting in the yard any more, and we won’t be getting the gun out to run them off. By the way; that gun is only a Daisy Red Rider air rifle; and I can hardly believe it “Made in China”.
Here along the banks of Flat Creek life is really interesting.
