It is a blessing to get more rain. Even as I write this post it is raining. It sounds a bit windy as well, but that’s okay as long as it rains to give the nourishment to the soil, grass, crops and trees. God is truly amazing, awesome, and gracious. Thank YOU Father.
You can tell that schools are preparing to start again. Specials in the stores for new children’s clothing, school materials such as notebooks, paper, pencils, pens, crayons, etc.. One of the ways I know it is is that I start getting letters from the School that reminds us of Bus Driver training day; which is today; and it begins around 8 a.m. In one week Cassville R-IV School District will begin; ie., Wednesday August 17, 2011.
I look forward to the new School year, but the Summer sure seemed short.
On the banks of Flat Creek, I am…
That is how it has seemed to me. It has been a busy week with mowing yard, driving the bus; both regular route driving and activity trips, as well as Vo-tech afternoon route at least one afternoon.
Since the riding mower is broken down I have been trying to keep up with our two and a half acre yard with a 20 inch push mower. It is probably helping me to get into better shape; but I do miss the rider.
The weather has gotten cooler around here, but I’m not complaining it sure was a blessing today while I was mowing the front yard. I wore a jacket doing it.
We had earlier planned on going to our son Philip’s and wife Sarah’s home in Arkansas this weekend, but the birth of the baby was postponed until next Friday, so we will be going next weekend. My how fast time flies when you’re having fun. Life is fun. It may not be fair; but it sure is a hoot. The week that passed us by has been that way.
I look forward to the next day. Shall I awake in my bed, or before the face of Jesus Christ; may His will be done.

I haven’t wrote anything here since January of this year. Much has happened in my life and the life of the world since then. Earthquakes that have left many thousands dead and many more homeless in Haiti, and Chile, and China. Floods have hit in many parts of this country [USA] up North in the South in Nashville, (Country Music City), and much chaos in the gulf from BP’s blunder with the oil well.
Since my last post my wife and I have moved. We are now living with my parents, hopefully helping them out while helping ourselves be nearer our work on our own home which is nearby. We have also planted a garden, and we spent time with it today; tilling the rows of potatoes we have planted; and they are growing quite well with blooms on the plants and new potatoes growing under the soil. I brought some of them home this afternoon, which I accidentally dug up while tilling the ground.
It seemed that the whole 2009 – 2010 School year moved by quickly. We are now out for the Summer vacation; and boy am I relieved. I was ready. I think every other bus driver was ready too; and not only the Cassville drivers.
It was sure warm; maybe even hot as Madge and I planted three rows of corn today. It didn’t take us long, but boy were we worn out, bushed, beat, and nearly busted of all our strength. We’re not that strong any way, and that sun beating down on us didn’t help.
I don’t mean to sound as though I am complaining; I am actually quite thankful. Thankful to our Lord that He has given us the strength to do what we can do; and leave what we can’t do up to Him. Sometimes even that which we think we can do we must let Him take care of too.
Looking forward to a grand and glorious Summer. We have Youth camp next week; and Children’s Camp in July. What a wonderful Summer it will be. Every day is wonderful when the God of all creation is in it; and He is.

Here we are in the final week of January 2009, and we are being hit by a Winter storm. Ice is falling from the sky, and making the roads and streets slickery (that is a word coined by my grandson, Josiah), and unfit for traveling, so schools all over Southwest MO. has been cancelled today.
I was scheduled for a medical procedure today at 9:00 a.m., but that was postponed yesterday when the hospital called basically asking if I would do that – they left it up to me – saying that I might not be able to arrive there due to weather and some of the hospital staff may not be able to arrive either, and my prep for the precedure would need to be repeated when it is rescheduled. So, I told them to postpone it. I had requested a couple days off from driving the School bus due to this.
When it was known that the event was called off for today, I called my Supervisor and told him I could drive now. He went ahead and let me off for the evening run, because he already had a sub driver, and told me I could go ahead and plan on driving today, but today “NO School”. That is a good thing considering the road conditions. I am already longing for Spring. I always look forward to Spring.
I am learning more everyday that our God is good. He is full of grace and mercy. What’s Happening??? God is working and moving in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.
HAVE A GREAT WINTER!!
