After a Dry Spell

I awoke this morning and heard some distant thunder. I had some information from accu-weather that is was supposed to rain, and I was hoping it would the ground was dry; even down a foot deep it was dry.

I know that because early the week before I had the sad duty of burying a dog name of Archer which had suffered for a long time from arthritus (spelling), and other problems.  He was a big loving, lovable dog.  The ground was dry and hard.

This morning around six or so at our house, in Mill Valley, on the banks of Flat Creek it started to rain.  It came with lightening, thunder, and wind. O, how I was glad and happy to receive the blessing.

A couple of months ago we were wondering when it was going to stop raining.  Many homes and businesses were flooded, and suffered damage, and sadly in some places people perished in those floods.

Myself I am thankful for the rain when ever it comes.  I do not ask God to stop it.  I will not complain about too much rain.  I will thank Him for it; He is the One who gives itl

Getting a Good Hard Rain

We have been blessed with rain through the night.  It was quite pleasant to wake a few time in the night and hear the drops of heaven playing their lovely song on our roof.

Even now as I write there is a gentle rainfall; with thunder, lightening, and rolling thunder.  I love the sounds the heavens make, declaring the blessings of our Lord.

Some Late Summer Rain

It is the latter part of Summer when you get to Labor Day weekend.  September 1 is just about a day away.

When got up this morning there was thunder in the distance, and as I went outside to investigate I saw the lightening; but there was yet, no rain.  We need the rain.  Plants are drying up without water.  The grass is brown or turning brown from the intense heat we have had for several days.  Things just do not live for long without water.

Just a few minutes ago, around 6 a.m. we received a bit of rain.  It was a grand blessing to hear the pebbled dew of heaven falling on our roof top.

The blessing for today.  One blessing for today is the rainfall we have received.

Blessed with Rain

As I sit at my computer this morning the lightening is flashing, the thunder is rolling, and rain is falling.  We received the blessing Saturday evening too; and received about one inch of the blessing.  During a rain break, I went and checked my bucket and there was another inch plus a quarter in the bucket.

Saturday July 20 made 5 weeks since we had received any significant rainfall.  Now the drought has been broken.

Now the rain is continuing.  There is only One who is worthy of thanks, and that is our Creator; our Maker; our Savior, and our friend.  Thank YOU Lord.

Blessed with some Rain

As I sit here at the computer writing; it is raining; with some lightening and thunder. It sounds almost like Spring.

Yesterday evening  I was watching the evening news, and I heard a noise I had not heard in a while.  It was the sound of rain hitting our house.  It was coming down pretty hard, and it came down for at least five minutes, and maybe ten.  I looked out the window, and it only appeared to be raining on us and to the North of us.  There is still a need for a good general rain, and it will come.

It was a blessing and a reminder that there is more coming.

We must remember that rain is a blessing from our Creator; and it is given for our crops, for our health, and reminder of the wonderful graces that He gives us each day.

Thank YOU LORD.

The Fifth Month

The month of May is in full swing.  I mean we cannot go back now, can we.  Who would want to?  Right?  The weather is beautiful.  Morning temps around here are in the low sixties.   This morning it was 62 degrees at 3 a.m.

The previous two mornings it was 61 degrees when I got up.  I can live with those kind of early morning temps.  Not only were the temperatures great, but we received early morning showers; yesterday morning’s being with thunderstorms; loud and windy with lightening and thunder.

It would be idea for rain to fall during the night hours, however, we just cannot make those kind of plans.  At least I cannot.  There are probably some scientist who are working on doing such things as controlling the weather, but…

I will leave that thought with you.

We only have twelve more days of school left, then we are out for Summer break.  Looking forward to it.
