The Month of Thanksgiving

The day of Thanksgiving in the month of November, this year on the 28th day of the month is a National Holiday.  I am, however a man who enjoys being thankful everyday.

So for the month of November on this blog site I am planning on giving you at least one thing I am thankful for.  We need to ask the question; “To whom are we to be thankful?”

Yes we are to be thankful to family, wife for her husband, and the other way around. Thankful for the things others do for you. To whom are we to give thanks ultimately?

Our thanks, ultimately, should be to our Creator who is our Lord, our Savior, and God, and Sustainer.

Today, I am grateful and thankful for the ability to move my fingers, my hands, my toes and feet, to move my legs, and that I can walk, even run some; and I can thank no one else but my Lord and God. So here it is…

Thank You Father for all the above.

Getting Ready for Sunday

It is Friday January 11, 2019 and Sunday is coming.

There are many who think Sunday is just another day of the week.  It is, in fact, the first day of each week, and the day the early Christians met in remembrance of our Lord’s resurrection.

I have never tried to hide the fact that I am a follower of Jesus Christ.  I do not believe in Him because I am fearful of eternity’s fire if I do not.  I believe in Him and follow Him because He loved me, and loves me so much that He proved it.

In recent years I have grown to a place in Him that I never doubt or question His love for me.  What I do question and sometimes doubt is my love for Him.

My goal throughout every week is to Get Ready for Sunday.  The day I join with a few others to lift up the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in our place of worship;  singing hymns of worship and praise, praying, and to preach and hear the preaching of the word of God.

I pray that anyone who is reading this is like minded, and you are preparing yourself to meet the Lord, with those of like mind in Church on Sunday.  It will surely improve your heart, mind, and attitude through the coming week.

If you are not getting ready for Sunday you may not be ready for the day the Son returns.

God richly bless you

Rain in November

When I awoke yesterday morning it was raining, and I got up, dressed and went and let the dogs out before it began to pour down.  This morning I awoke to thunder, about 2:45, got up, dressed and by the time I went to let the dogs out of the pen it was pouring.  I was practically soaked just stepping out the door.

I did have sense enough this morning to put my coat on which turns water a bit.  The front of my jeans was soaked by the time I returned to the house.  I am thankful it has been so warm of the mornings.  Yesterday morning I think it was 52 degrees, and this morning it was 58 degrees.  That is getting pretty near late Spring or early Summer, late Summer temps.

The dogs go and find shelter soon as I let them out I suppose.  I did not watch where they went, or where they go.

I think the weather is supposed to get cooler by tomorrow.  Hey!  That is the time of year we are in.  Let us not be surprised when it snows.  NO! NO! NO!  I don’t want snow.  It will come though.  At least somewhere it will come.

It is amazing as I look out my office window; the grass is still green, and looks really green with the rain fall.  Blessed be the name of the LORD who blesses us with all these benefits.

Flat Creek is rising from this rainfall.  I can see it better looking out the back window now.

Rolling Thunder

For some reason I love the sound of rolling, rumbling thunder.  As i write this morning that is the sound I hear outdoors.  I don’t know all the scientific, meteorological terminology, but I love the sound.  It’s a reminder that there is a power bigger than myself; and He is GOD.  He is Christ Jesus the one who sustains, and holds all things together.

Thank the LORD for the rain.  He is the Blesser, and Blessing of this planet, and the whole of the Universe.

It almost seems that since we started getting this rain; you can sit down and watch the grass grow before your eyes.  Creation loves the blessings of our Creator.  Let’s love the Creator who has blessed us far above that which we deserve.

Watching the grass green up and grow on the banks of Flat Creek.
