Ducks on the Creek

The place where our dinner table is set is where we can have our patio curtain drawn back and see a very large portion of our backyard.  For the past two morning’s Madge and I have been eating our breakfast, looking through the door to the frost on the ground, watching the dogs at times; and then, too I have witnessed ducks swimming and playing down on the rapids in the creek.

They would get in the rapid part of the creek, float down for a way, the fly back up to the still water, float, and get into the rapid, float down some more, then again fly back up to the still water.  It is like they were just entertaining themselves, having fun.  Madge and I were entertained watching them.

Flat Creek holds a wealth of entertainment for those who know what real entertainment is.  For others you can be bored if you want.  Though I do sorrow much for the parents and loved ones of the children and teachers who were murdered by the Connecticut Coward; and I also sorrow for his parents and family.  I will not be logged down with the burden of the immoral, indecent, murderous acts of anyone.  Ducks on the Creek is great relief from the continued cacophonous sounds of the News media going on and on about any tragedy.

I will pray for the the families; and still watch the Ducks on the Creek; as well as Eagles soaring through the air.

New Front Porch

For over a year now we have had manufactured steps at our front door with no porch.  Of course we still have some of those steps at our two back accesses to the house; one at our laundry door, and one at our patio door.  No!  We do not have a rear deck built yet; but it is in the plans.

We are only endeavoring to do these builds without adding more to our debt.

The front porch is now built and paid for; the only part of the house that is paid for.  It is great and we offer our praise to the Creator who has blessed us with the means to receive it and to care for it.

It will be great to have the porch to set in our outdoor chairs on the days of nice weather; to watch, listen and learn from God the things He has made in creation.

On the banks of Flat Creek, and it is still rolling right along.
