What Is Going On?

What is going on at your house today?  There is no classes in Cassville Schools today; and of that I am sure the kids are glad.

By the way; I hope no one is offended by me calling children “Kids”.  I have always called them “Kids”.  I probably always will.  If you are offended by that, just do not read this blog anymore.  Now that is a statement isn’t it?

Too many people are offended by whatever offends them.  Do I ever get offended?  Most certainly I do.  Do I tell people that what they said offends me?  Maybe!  Maybe not.  How ever I respond to them I do not start a riot, or set up a blockade to try and cause that sort of speech to stop.  Maybe I am offended that you are offended by what I say.  So what.

Let me help you here if it does not offend you.  Let it roll off your sleeves.  Get up. Get out. Make a difference in your life today, by doing something.  Do something for someone who has offended you.  There is a catcher.  Right.  Do something for someone who has offended you.  I mean something good.

If it is an offensive neighbor take them some of their favorite cookies.  If their lawn needs mow; mow their yard without expecting anything in return.  In fact do not let them know you did it.  You might find yourself with a better neighbor, and find yourself to be a better neighbor.

You also might take being offended a whole lot better.

What is going on  at your house, in your life today?

Just Thinkin’

That is somethin’ some folks need to do a little more of.  Maybe even myself.  We need to get away from those electronic gadgets… and I laugh as I sit here typin’ on this computer… but I do some thinkin’ quite often.

I was thinkin’ as I was sittin’ here that it sure is nice to have this really cool weather here in the middle of July; which is usually the hottest month of Summer;  well at least it and August are the hottest, but so far, not this year.

Just to let the two or three who might read this know; I have been walkin’ every mornin’ ‘cept Sunday.  This mornin’ I walked nigh onto a couple miles.  Yep! I walked up to my Ma’s and Pa’s, visited with ’em for a while, then walked back home.

This mornin’ the temp was 47 degrees when I got up at 4:30.  It is a wonderful thing and because of that I am thankin’ th’ the good Lord for it.  I must say it was refreshin’ to have the cool air on my face, and when I got back  to the house I waden even sweatin’.

I mowed the back yard yesterdy.  It looks better now.  Flat Creek is stilling rolling right along.

Just a Few Words

I have just a few words for today.  Probably not life changing; and maybe not thought provoking; maybe just rambling.  I can.  It’s my blog.  Right?

I wrote in my journal again today.  I wrote of a verse in Proverbs.  It was in chapter 4 and verse 23.  It reads,

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Just thinking of that causes me to realize it is the heart or inner being of individuals which determines our treasures.  Jesus did say, “Where your treasure is; there will your heart be also”. (Matthew 6:21)  Guard your heart it is the seat of what drives your thoughts and actions.

Now I don’t want to get this into being a preachy blog.  I have one of those already.  Nothing wrong with preaching; but it  is not my intention to do that here.

I am just a simple country boy with very little education; High School graduate, and two years of Bible “College” without graduating.  Still just a simple country boy with an Ozark twang.  That I am not ashamed of.

Thanks for coming and reading my few words from along the banks of Flat Creek.
